Tenterden Road, Dagenham

As part of the major regeneration in the Borough, we were contracted by Barking and Dagenham Local Authority to demolish a two-storey former community building in Tenterden Road, Dagenham.

The building to be demolished was opposite a local school and the road was an access route used by local residents. The building was also near to a popular local leisure centre. The potential impact on the local school, residents and their environment, unless properly managed was substantial. The Local Authority requested that the building was demolished during the summer school holidays to reduce the impact on the local community. We set about formulating a management plan to effectively manage and control potential issues, such as noise, dust, vibration, traffic management and trespassers. We made contact with local residents to inform them when the demolition was to take place.

The building was demolished using an excavator mounted grappling attachment. The building was successfully demolished in the time frames requested by the Local Authority and there was minimal disruption to the local community.

The Local Authority have since conveyed their thanks and appreciation of the work carried out.

During this project, auditors working for the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) carried out an audit of our working methods and management systems. We are pleased to announce we passed the audit and maintain our status as an approved member of the NFDC.
